My Story

Anita is a highly experienced veterinary nurse with many years in the profession. She currently serves as the Employee Engagement Officer for Veterinary Specialist Services (VSS), a multi-site referral hospital group in Australia, where she focuses on staff wellbeing, diversity, and professional development.

She holds advanced qualifications in surgery and emergency/critical care and is a Registered and Accredited Veterinary Nurse through the Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia (VNCA). Internationally, Anita is credentialed as a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner and a Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anesthesia and Analgesia.

Anita is the current President of the Academy of Veterinary Technicians in Anesthesia and Analgesia (AVTAA).  And she is actively involved in continuing education and conference planning through various committees.

Her contributions have been recognised with prestigious awards including the Dr. Steve Haskins (2018), VNCA Vet Nurse of the Year (2022) and Dr. Earl Rippie Scholarships (2024). Outside of work, Anita enjoys relaxing with her beloved pets.
